Freedom of Choice

// June 15th, 2009 // No Comments » // Uncategorized

Freedom of choice is the only true freedom we have. Once we make a choice, we become a servant of that choice. How we are a servant to our choices requires commitment, care, and prayer. We make choices all day long, minute by minute. Our motives determine whether our choices are good or bad, self-centered or God centered.

Confession and Forgiveness

// June 8th, 2009 // No Comments » // Uncategorized

In 1John 1:9 we read, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” The first part of this verse describes our part. It is our job to confess or admit our sin and ask forgiveness. The rest describes the Lord’s part: to cleanse us of our unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, and hatred. We must simply admit these sins and make a choice to cancel someone’s debt of an apology they owe us. When we do, the Lord will heal us, removing the pain and the negative messages in our heart.
