Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Barbara graduated from Edgecliff College with a degree in fine arts with a concentration in sculpting. She worked as an illustrator for Gibson Greeting Cards; Shillito’s Department Store, The Cincinnati Post & The Cincinnati Enquire; taught Saturday art classes at the Cincinnati Museum of Art; continued to take painting classes at the Art Academy for seventeen years while raising four children.
