December 18, 2012 – Mike Phelan

// December 18th, 2012 // No Comments » // Quest for a Culture of Life in America

Today, we complete the two-part series on the Diocese of Phoenix, with Mike Phelan, Director of Marriage and Family Life. Last week at this time, I was in Phoenix and you heard my interview of Dr Clint Leonard, an NFP-Only Ob/Gyn who practices in a Phoenix suburb. He is a great witness to the beauty and efficacy of authentic Catholic health care. If you missed the program, you can listen to the recording at by going to our archives for 11 December.

Mike has a great personal story of following God’s plan for his life by moving his family to Washington DC to attend the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family. He took a leap of faith–”be not afraid”–and great things happened, in his family and in the Diocese of Phoenix.

Mike will tell us “his story” and how the Diocese of Phoenix has come to be recognized as having one of the most progressive marriage preparation programs in the the country–envied and emulated by many other dioceses.

December 4, 2012 – Father Martin Fox

// December 4th, 2012 // No Comments » // Quest for a Culture of Life in America

Father Martin Fox was involved with pro-life and politics before answering the call to the priesthood of Jesus Christ. Now, he wears at least three hats–Parochial Vicar for St Rose Parish in Cincinnati, Director of Priestly Formation for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and still President of the National Pro-Life Alliance (NPLA). He has had a most interesting life and I’m really looking forward to learning more about him and his work.

NPLA has several initiatives that confront abortion, with their “Life Begins at Conception” Act being the most important. The Supreme Court in its Roe vs Wade decision claimed not to know when life begins. They in essence invited someone to tell them. If it can be established in law that life begins at conception, then all life would be protected by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.
