March 28, 2014 – Almsgiving

Joe discussed the importance of Almsgiving in our spiritual lives. Recognizing that this voluntary act, asking for nothing in return, in giving to the poor (made in the image and likeness of God) is really giving back to God Himself. Almsgiving brings down temporal blessings upon us and a is means of obtaining a speedy answer to our prayers.

February 21, 2014 – Adoration & Detachment

Joe started the show by discussing Eucharistic Adoration and the benefits contained therein. In a ramp up to Lent, Joe read a passage (“The way of nothing”) from the book “Divine Intimacy” highlighting our need for detachment. He expanded on this need in the identification of and rooting out that which is displeasing to God, namely sin. In doing so, we embark upon the path to holiness, which is to say, Union with God!

January 24, 2014 – Penny Lord & Nearness of Death

On today’s show, Joe reflected upon the recent passing of his friends Penny Lord & Manny Nino. Both of them were very holy and understood the spiritual life’s magnitude as having an eternal consequence. As such, they paid particular attention to what was most important by putting first things first…..namely their spiritual lives. Joe also reflected upon the nearness of death in our own lives and how we ought to prepare properly each day for our ultimate meeting with our Lord and Savior.

Joe and Fr. John (Parochial Administrator of St. Stephens the First Martyr, Sacramento California) discussed the beauty and richness of the Traditional Latin Mass. Father also answered the most common questions that are often asked regarding this particular Mass.
