Keynote 1 – Friday Evening – “Why the Word Became Flesh”
// June 30th, 2010 // No Comments » // Keynote
Sr. Therese Marie Iglesias
In a world that has relegated Jesus Christ to another historical figure, wise philosopher, and doer of good
deeds, the importance of Jesus’ Incarnation has been lost. Christ has become for too many a self-help
project, a way of coping, rather the “The Way” of finding purpose for our existence. It is through the
Incarnation of Christ that God reveals to us much more than a man who is a doer of good deeds, but
rather the God-Man who has taken on our flesh so we may partake in His divinity.

Keynote 2 – Saturday Morning – “Theology of the Body: God’s Plan for Love and Life”
// June 30th, 2010 // No Comments » // Keynote
Jason Evert
Often times we think that tension, conflict and heartache experienced in the male-female relationship is normal. This isn’t normal. It isn’t the way God intended us to be. God has created man and woman with a greater plan, and this purpose and plan is revealed through our very bodies. This is the central understanding of the Theology
of the Body. That the body and it alone is capable of making visible, what is invisible: the spiritual and
divine (TOB 19:4). The purpose of our life can only be found if we go back to its original design that:
Man can fully discover himself only in a sincere giving of himself (Gaudium et Spes 24). Nothing reflects
this more than Christ on the cross, the Word made FLESH giving His life, His BODY for us the Church.

Keynote 3 – Saturday Evening – “Becoming Jesus, The Word of God”
// June 30th, 2010 // No Comments » // Keynote
John Beaulieu
The third reason for the incarnation states that: “The Word became flesh to make us
“partakers of the divine nature “. “For this is why the Word became man, and the Son of God
became the Son of man: so that man, by entering into communion with the Word and thus
receiving divine sonship, might become a son of God” (CCC 460) . Christianity is about
becoming like Jesus. He is our standard. And through the incarnation, he is “becoming” IN
us. He will take over, from the inside, if we let him. It is not “What Would Jesus Do?” It is
“What WILL Jesus Do In Me?”

Homily 1 – Saturday Morning – “Redeemed By The Blood Of Jesus”
// June 30th, 2010 // No Comments » // Homily
Fr. Jose Robles-Sanchez
Christ’s blood is the instrument of atonement for the sins of man. His passion was the baptism that he had to be baptized with. Now through our Baptism, we join with Him in dying to self and world and we gain the merits of His saving act. In Eucharist, we are united to Christ
in His Passion that we may follow Him to the cross.

Workshop 1 – “Evangelizing Your School”
// June 30th, 2010 // No Comments » // Workshop

We live in a broken world where people have lost hope and can only find some
temporary happiness through the things of the world. We know the truth – we know
that there is more to life than what you see outside of yourself.
1 Peter 3:15 “Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a
reason for your hope”
We should always be ready to share the truth of the Gospel with those around us – with
great confidence that these are the words of life that each heart seeks.

Workshop 2 – “Daring to Date”

There is all kinds of advice out there about dating today. Magazines, TV shows, and movies that tell you
you’re young and you should date a lot of people before you get married. Yet God has more in store for
you than just jumping from one relationship to another. God wants to form you into a man and woman
of God. Dating is a great way to discern your vocation and grow as a person with others for others. Yet
with dating comes a responsibility, as a Christian, to live and date by your Christian value. So HOW you
date and WHO you date is important. This doesn’t mean that dating is about following the rules or not
having fun. If you choose to date, God wants your dating life to be free, fun, and God centered. And here
are some easy and practical ways to enjoy dating while living your Christian faith.

Workshop 3 – “You’ve Been Lied To!”
// June 30th, 2010 // No Comments » // Workshop
Kelly Lombardi
God is truth. Truth is central to understanding God. Everyday, teens are confronted by a
variety of messages on who they should be and how to live. Most of these lies are rooted in
the deadly sins and repackaged with a slick marketing campaign designed to make them look
new and life-giving. They only lead to death.

God in His great love for His people has given us holy men and women to model living
holy lives, none more so than Mary. While she is the Mother of God, more importantly,
she said “yes” to what God asked of her. Key ideas to this workshop; introduce Mary to
the participants to see that they can be like her in trust and faith in God and see that
she can be a conduit to Christ by meditating on her life and her choices.

Workshop 5 – “Praying the Mass”
// June 30th, 2010 // No Comments » // Workshop
Fr. Jose Robles-Sanchez
For many teens, the Mass is something they “have” to go to. Many find it boring and
difficult to enter into. This workshop is meant to open the teens’ eyes to what is
happening in the Liturgy and help them engage with that spiritual reality.
