Francesca Franchina MS Ed. speaks with organizers Lisa Donigian, Mary Pyper and callers about the recent retreat at St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Beavercreek, OH on Forgiveness and Healing presented by Immaculee Ilibagazia October 17/18. What effect did this retreat have on them and the more than 600 that attended including priests and religious from near and from far? What did our Lady tell all of us in the apparitions at Kibehoe in Rwanda, Africa in the 90’s and what is the implication for us today?
Immaculee / author, popular speaker and retreat facilitator/ presenter was “LEFT TO TELL” after the genocide. Our Lady had appeared years before and gave the message of repentance and spiritual renewal to students at a Catholic girl’s school in Kebehoe who met with doubt, rejection and ridicule before the genocide occurred where thousands were killed. Immaculee was hidden from those seeking to kill her in a neighbor’s 3 ft. x 4ft. bathroom along with several other girls for three months. Learn how they survived and how important the rosary is even in our daily lives and what it did for Immaculee. Her whole family was killed in the genocide and Immaculee shared how she was able to forgive and begin the healing process from this horrific experience and how she grew in prayer and learned English during the time of hiding and enclosure. Our Lady’s message at Fatima, Akita Japan and other places of apparition dove tail the message of Kibehoe, which Our Lady said could happen in America: Reconciliation, Forgiveness, Prayer, Fasting and Returning to God and sharing the message of salvation and evangelization was Our Lady’s message given to Immaculee that she delivers world wide in retreats, talks , books and DVD presentations.
Francesca Franchina MS Ed. , OCDS talks with Frances Harry OCDS, former President of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites Mother Of Good Counsel Community, Dayton, Ohio focusing on Doctor of the Church St. Teresa of Jesus highlighting The Prayer of Recollection, her many books focusing on spiritual development and formation and prayer discussing the essence and experience of Mystical Theology. St. Teresa was a lively, good humored Spanish Carmelite who loved God, and brought Jesus, Mary, and Joseph to the forefront in simple prayer with deep roots and high spiritual implications with the Holy Spirit animating her all the way.
St. Teresa of Avila respectfully reduced academic sublime prayer and brought it to the level to be practical for all people, defining prayer as conversation with God. Her life story is one to be read and studied, following a highly creative inquiring mind that practiced heroic virtue in the face of discouragement, rejection and investigation during The Inquisition and a time when women were not considered on the level of men in academe and intellectual development. The program highlights St. Teresa of Avila’s life, approach and practice of practical prayer ranging from the simple to the sublime in holiness in bringing wisdom and joy in consecration, conversation and serving God The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. She loved the Blessed Mother and St. Joseph and began many Discalced Carmelite communities throughout Spain which now include priests and sisters all over the world .
Reading and studying St. Teresa of Avila’s numerous book, s one is sparked and intrigued by the Holy Spirit that guided and guarded this highly creative mind and blessedness of the woman highlighting a simple approach to prayer that got beyond the sedentary and ritual, bringing souls into contemplation, communication and spiritual formation with The Blessed Trinity, the Blessed Mother Mary and St. Joseph. Call in and participate in the program with your comments and questions. Frances Harry, OCDS co-hosts Carmelite Conversations with Mark Danis OCDS broadcast live on Radio Maria, Monday evenings at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. Bl. Wm. Joseph Chaminade, Founder of The Society of Mary (Marianists) was a holy, gutsy, innovative, highly creative Catholic priest, who was exiled to Saragossa, Spain during the French Revolution. Francesca Franchina MS Ed. talks with Father Steve dos Santos, C.PP.S. (Missionaries of The Precious Blood) about Evangelization Today and Evangelization ala St . Gaspar del Bufalo, Founder of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in Italy in the 1800’s which has spread throughout many countries and still evangelizing! St. Gaspar’s method of Evangelization and Re-Catechizing “Missions” even converted a whole town (Soninno, Italy) that didn’t welcome or even like him! St. Gaspar’s time was a time of turmoil for Christians and the Catholic Church. Gaspar del Bufalo as a child contracted small pox and was losing his vision at 18 months old but was healed through the blessing he received of the relic of St. Francis Xavier at the Gesu in Rome. St. Gaspar was attracted to the Precious Blood and founded an order with the charism of The Precious Blood that is taught ,preached and received with a new ardor and understanding in today’s New Evangelization. This spirituality, prayer and teaching of St. Gaspar gathered and converted souls in Italy after the Napoleonic Era which was at odds with the Papal State. The French Revolution changed the horizon for Christians at the time, banishing priests and Catholicism into exile (as was St. Gaspar) and even martyrdom for some Catholics as Napoleon’s regime even horrifically enshrined the goddess of reason in the Tabernacle of the Cathedral Notre Dame. Napoleon’s eventual downfall and banishment from Italy brought forward the blessings of the Missionaries of The Precious Blood Charism and Spirituality that continues and is held in blessed esteem and practice today in the USA, South America, Europe, India and many other locales. Father Steve serves as Executive Assistant to the Provincial of the Missionaries of The Precious Blood in the Province of Cincinnati Provincial Administration located in Dayton, OH and has conducted Precious Blood Missions, Retreats and is active in Renewal.

In Akita, Japan, she offered her tears 101 times sorrowing for the salvation of souls, many of whom would be lost. At Soufanieh, Damascus, Syria, she bestowed the fountain of oil (symbolizing the blood of Jesus), which oozes from her icon and flowed upon the hands of Myrna Mazzour; Hear how the Queen of Angels and her host of angels help us in our spiritual battles assuming our humility and simplicity asking for their help.
