fhare on October 29, 2013No sub-set of America has suffered the “culture of death” more than African-Americans. Their children are targeted for abortion, their women are taken advantage of and their families are suffering due to fatherlessness, poverty, and poor education. Of course, these are not independent variables–they feed each other. What can be done to reverse this tragedy? Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers is a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of Portland Oregon and a full-time Catholic evangelist. He was raised Catholic ans spent 4 years in a Benedictine seminary. Now he is married to Colleen and they are parents to 4 children. Deacon Herald has been on EWTN, travels extensively giving retreats and lectures on the family, the culture and the challenges facing the Catholic Church in America. He is outspoken in his conviction that contraception and abortion are devastating the family, society and the Church. I pray that Deacon Harold will have some practical evangelization tips that apply to all Americans. We need to build up our parishes. We need new life in abundance. Three of every four self-professed Catholics do not regularly attend Mass. What will it take for them to come back? What can we do to help them?
