Father Loya defines. “What Catholic is.” Father Loya relates his experience with seeing the movie American Sniper. This is war movie, but a movie that it is beneficial in that we see our humanity. It relates the human drama, Christ’s drama. The picture had a profound impact on the audience as the audience sat in reverent silence at the end. As art is transcendent in this respect and creates a link between God and Man and puts us in touch with the God event. The picture was also a study in St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body which contrasts a sense of mission versus the need to nurture and how we make gifts of ourselves.
