May 06, 2015 – “ON THE WAY TO THE UD CCE SUMMIT 2015” SUSAN FERGUSON AND DR. SHAUNA ADAMS

Francesca Franchina, MS Ed. talks   with   Susan Ferguson, Director of the University of Dayton Center for Catholic Education (CCE) and Dr.  Shauna Adams, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Center for Early Learning at the University of Dayton.  Susan and Shauna address the University of Dayton CCE Educational Summit to be held June 24, 2015 at the UD River Campus focusing on the work at UD and around the USA in Catholic Education connected to the National Standards and Benchmarks four domains of Mission & Identity and Leadership & Governance. The CCE Summit 2015 focuses on Leadership and Family Engagement prompted by The Synod on  the Family conducted by Pope Francis which he continues to prioritize. UD focuses on leadership hosting a number of initiatives through the years   calling forth potential leaders, training those called and supporting those serving as leaders from their first years to later years. The Summit is open to all teachers, principals, parents, pastors, Archdiocesan personnel, community partners, philanthropists, legislators and all interested youth advocates.

Wm.¬† Joseph¬† Chaminade, Founder of The Society of Mary¬† (Marianists)¬†¬†was¬† a¬† holy, gutsy,¬†innovative, highly creative¬†¬†Catholic¬† priest, evangelizer and educator,¬† exiled from¬† France¬† to Saragossa, Spain¬† during¬† the French Revolution.¬†An Apostolic Missionary, his mission/charism was related to him¬†by¬†the Blessed¬†Mother herself to¬†‚Äúrebuild¬†the Catholic Church¬†in¬†France.‚ÄĚ Chaminade¬†accomplished this by creating¬†solid experiences in developing¬†Small Christian Communities (Sodalities/SCC) of men and women, schools and¬†parishes. ¬†“Evangelization Through Education” was his¬†motto sharing bona fide authentic Catholic teaching and Catholic¬†experiences in education throughout his life.
