Message from the Director: Month of July Dedicated of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ

The month of July is traditionally dedicated to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ. The feast of the Most Precious Blood of our Lord was instituted in 1849 by Pope Pius IX. We are reminded that by the shedding of His Precious Blood, Christ saved mankind from our sins. “For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured for many, for the forgiveness of sins.” Mt. 26:28. The Precious Blood of Jesus cleanses us from our sins. In the Sacrament of Penance, we are forgiven of our sins through the absolution of the priest. How powerful it is that we are restored to the supernatural life of grace.

The early Fathers say that the Church was born from the pierced side of Christ, and that the sacraments were brought forth through His Blood. “But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once, there came out blood and water.” Mt. Jn. 19:34. The Blood from the pierced side of Christ symbolizes the Precious Blood in the Most Holy Eucharist.

We wish to invoke the Blood of Jesus on ourselves, the sick and suffering, and the whole family of Radio Maria. We ask the Lord to protect us from all evil. The Blood of Jesus has the power to protect us, and lead us to the life of grace in Christ, in particular through the Sacraments. We ask the Lord to wash us clean in our mission of Radio Maria. We want to be faithful to our calling as a family, to our identity of a Radio that brings prayer, Christian and Human formation, News and Music in the lives of people.

It is Our Lady’s Radio and she wants to continue to lead us to Her Son Jesus who has poured out his Precious Blood for us.

February 22, 2013 – Lent 2013 – Week #2

Joe kicked off today’s show challenging everyone to keep the faith and make this Lent count, bringing honor and glory to God! He went on to explain the Church’s teaching & definition on Fasting & Abstinence. He rounded out the show reflecting upon the gift we have of in the grace of Sacramental Confession, that it not only provides absolution for our sins, but also strengthens our souls beforehand against relapses, offers fortitude to resist future temptations, and helps carry out good resolutions.
