Message from the Director: Month of July Dedicated of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ
The month of July is traditionally dedicated to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ. The feast of the Most Precious Blood of our Lord was instituted in 1849 by Pope Pius IX. We are reminded that by the shedding of His Precious Blood, Christ saved mankind from our sins. “For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured for many, for the forgiveness of sins.” Mt. 26:28. The Precious Blood of Jesus cleanses us from our sins. In the Sacrament of Penance, we are forgiven of our sins through the absolution of the priest. How powerful it is that we are restored to the supernatural life of grace.
The early Fathers say that the Church was born from the pierced side of Christ, and that the sacraments were brought forth through His Blood. “But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once, there came out blood and water.” Mt. Jn. 19:34. The Blood from the pierced side of Christ symbolizes the Precious Blood in the Most Holy Eucharist.
We wish to invoke the Blood of Jesus on ourselves, the sick and suffering, and the whole family of Radio Maria. We ask the Lord to protect us from all evil. The Blood of Jesus has the power to protect us, and lead us to the life of grace in Christ, in particular through the Sacraments. We ask the Lord to wash us clean in our mission of Radio Maria. We want to be faithful to our calling as a family, to our identity of a Radio that brings prayer, Christian and Human formation, News and Music in the lives of people.
It is Our Lady’s Radio and she wants to continue to lead us to Her Son Jesus who has poured out his Precious Blood for us.
Prayer in Honor of St. John the Baptist
Today, on the feast day of St. John the Baptist, let us pray in his honor.
O Martyr invincible, who, for the honor of God and the salvation of souls didst with firmness and constancy withstand the impiety of Herod even at the cost of thine own life, and didst rebuke him openly for his wicked and dissolute life; by thy prayers obtain for us a heart, brave and generous, in order that we may overcome all human respect and openly profess our faith in loyal obedience to the teachings of Jesus Christ, our divine Master.
Say: “Our Father…”, “Hail Mary…”, and “Glory be…”
Pray for us, Saint John the Baptist, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
O God, who hast made this day to be honorable in our eyes by the commemoration of blessed John the Baptist, grant unto Thy people the grace of spiritual joy, and direct the minds of all Thy faithful into the way of everlasting salvation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
