Program: God’s Word Alive & Active

God's Word

Each Friday, at 9:30am ET /8:30am CT, you have the opportunity to listen to one of our most valued presenters, Mr. Tom Webb. Practically since the inception of Radio Maria US, Tom has prepared and presented a program teaching us about the upcoming Sunday’s readings.

In his presentation, God’s Word Alive and Active, Tom skillfully explains the historical and cultural settings surrounding the readings, and he does it with the expertise of an accomplished storyteller.

We invite you to tune in on Fridays, 9:30am ET/8:30am CT, and let Tom lead you to a deeper understanding of God’s Word.

Live Children’s Rosary On The Second Saturday

We have a very special announcement to make. Starting on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. Central/4:00 p.m. Eastern, we introduced our listening audience to The Children’s Rosary. The Children’s Rosary is a lay prayer movement that started in 2011, with the help of Dr. Blythe Kaufman and others, in their local parish in Connecticut. The rosary prayer groups are composed of children, and led by children. The target age of the children for these prayer groups is between 4 and 14 years old. Of special note are children with disabilities who may be older in age but have a special place in the children’s rosary. The movement has now grown, with numerous groups throughout the United States, and even reaching Australia, Canada, England, Kenya, and Nigeria. We invite you to hear The Children’s Rosary on the 2nd Saturday of each month, at 3:00 p.m. Central/4:00 p.m. Eastern, and visit their website at childrensrosary.blogspot.com . You will be abundantly blessed by these precious little voices as they pray.

June 10, 2014 – Robert Muckle

Robert Muckle is one of those long-time Pro-Life warriors that will be in the battle until we win or he goes to heaven. He has served CT Right to Life Corp for almost 40 years, holding offices and organizing the annual Waterbury bus to the March for Life all of that time.

Connecticut has played an important role in the effort to keep contraception illegal and thus slowing the march toward legalized abortion. Eventually it was the legal tangles in CT over their Comstock Laws that paved the way for Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton. It seems ironic that efforts to prevent contraceptive access would eventually provide the “privacy” legal arguments that would lead to the legalization of abortion on demand throughout the US.

On June 21st Waterbury Catholics (and hopefully others) will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of closing the Waterbury Birth Control Clinic on June 19th, 1939. How will they celebrate? What does this celebration portend for the future of the Catholic Church in America? Has America’s culture of death reached its zenith?

Are we threatened or encouraged to know people outside our milieu? What witness do we present as Christians and Catholics about Jesus, Mary and our beliefs? Do we offer a challenge or an invitation?
