July 29, 2014 – Robert Reilly

Not very long ago, virtually all people and religions considered same-sex attraction as “disordered” and same-gender sexual activity as disgusting, unlawful, and intrinsically evil. But today, numerous polls indicate that most Americans, including many Catholics, now support same-sex “marriage”.

Where has the “gay rights” movement come from, and how has it so easily (and successfully) conquered America? Robert Reilly believes the answers are in the dynamics of rationalizing sexual misbehavior. He makes his case in Making Gay Okay, How Rationalizing Homosexual Behavior is Changing Everything.

Rationalization or justification, or making to appear normal, is not new to our culture. Consider the rationalization of birth control, abortion, divorce, and co-habitation, to name but a few behaviors now considered normal, but not long ago were shameful.

American institutions–courts, armed forces, schools, Boy Scouts, foreign policy–have fallen in line to accept homosexuality as normal and the behavior as acceptable. What more can we expect? What can be done to stop this assault on decency and common sense. I pray that Robert has some answers for us.

April 08, 2014 – Peter LaBarbera

Peter will be our Guest on “The Quest for a Culture of Life in America” Tuesday NOON ET. He is President of Americans For Truth about Homosexuality (AFTAH), a non-partisan, non-profit group dedicated to exposing the homosexual-bisexual-transgender activist agendas. AFTAH is a counter to over a dozen national American “gay” groups with annual budgets ranging from just under $1 million to over $30 million working to advance an agenda which threatens to criminalize Christian opposition to behavior that most Americans believe is wrong.
LaBarbera has debated the top homosexual advocates while appearing on hundreds of TV and radio news programs, including FOX’s Hannity and Colmes, CNN’s “The Larry King Show” and CNN’s “Crossfire,” C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal,” National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered,” and Bill O’Reilly’s and Alan Colmes’ nationally syndicated radio programs. He has been quoted on homosexuality-related issues in newspapers across the nation, including The New York Times,Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Wall Street Journal, Washington Times, Chicago Sun-Times, Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, as well as by Associated Press and Reuters.
Peter will address Health Issues associated with homosexual behaviors and the question of whether same-sex-attraction (SSA) is a condition/disorder that people are born with or acquired. He will also examine the motives behind efforts to normalize SSA in our schools and culture. Are these often extreme tactics creating a back lash that will eventually bring these efforts down?

April 2, 2013 – Fr John Harvey

Courage is an international organization founded by Fr John Harvey to provide support for men and women who strive for chastity while experiencing sexual attraction to members of the same gender. Fr Klee is the leader of such a group and so we will be learning about homosexuality and the current push for redefining marriage to accommodate homosexual relationships. Where does homosexuality come from? Can parents reduce the risk of their children claiming a homosexual orientation? What about the “equality” and “compassion” arguments that fuel the popularity of support for redefining marriage? Are these legitimate reasons? How can one respond with generosity, kindness, and respect for the dignity of all human beings? What is it about marriage that makes it exclusive to one man and one woman–other restrictions do apply?

July 12, 2012 – Mary Eberstadt

Ken talks with Mary Eberstadt about her two most recent books. In Adam and Eve after the Pill – Paradoxes of the Sexual Revolution, Mary challenges widespread attitudes about the benefits of contraceptives and the sexual revolution – especially the impact on women. In her book The Loser Letters – A Comic Tale of Life, Death, and Atheism she challenges “the new atheists” in an effective humorous manner. This book has been compared favorably with C. S. Lewis’s famous The Screwtap Letters. Her books (both published by Ignatius Press)  are available at http://www.ignatius.com/Products/AEAP-H/adam-and-eve-after-the-pill.aspx and http://www.ignatius.com/Products/LOSLET-P/the-loser-letters.aspx
