Father Loya invites as to pull back the veil and see God as He manifests Himself in the Incarnation, where the invisible God is made visible through the physical. This is the world of Catholicity.

Father Loya talks about the loss of family members this past year and reflects that through faith it allowed God to permeate his existence and that God can hold the departed in Eternal Memory with perfect love. We further discuss the pillars of Advent or as called in the Eastern Catholic Churches, Phillip’s Fast as we are called to prayer, fasting and charity as this time is not only a time for joy but for penance as well. We should live Christmas as it was meant to be lived!

March 25, 2014 – Kevin McCarthy

Kevin McCarthy will be our Guest on “The Quest for a Culture of Life in America” on Tuesday the 25th. Kevin was our Guest on January 7th speaking about Our Lady of America, the Immaculate Virgin. That talk is archived at radiomaria.us. The Federal Court trial he spoke of back then is finished with a very favorable outcome that still awaits some final statements by Judge William Lawrence.

Kevin is a secular lawyer and canon lawyer with a Licentiate in Sacred Theology from the Angelicum in Rome. He will be speaking with us on Tuesday at Noon ET about the Annunciation and Incarnation of Jesus–the most awesome event in human history. The Annunciation event is not given much attention in the USA, but is a Holyday of Obligation in some countries.

Whenever we say the Hail Mary, and as part of the Angelus, we repeat the words of the Angel Gabriel’s Announcement to Mary that she would bear the Savior in her womb. Did she realize then that she would nurse Him as an infant/toddler, and then nurture and accompany Him through the 33 years of His earthly life? She was Jesus’ most faithful disciple, even with Him at his cruel death on a cross, and burial. She surely understood that her
Son would rise from the dead on the third day. I wonder if she was waiting at the tomb with new garments and some food. Scripture does not say.

December 16, 2013 – Incarnation and Carmelite

In our busy preparations for Christmas, even our spiritual preparations, we can sometimes forget the most significant theological aspect of Christ’s birth, the Incarnation of God into our human lives. During this conversation Frances and Mark discuss some interesting historical facts regarding the use of the term ‘Incarnation’ in the history of the Carmelite Order. They then go on to speak about an interesting phrase in a Prayer by Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity, which she wrote to the Trinity. In that well know prayer she asks: ā€œConsuming Fire! Spirit of Love! Descend within me and reproduce in me, as it were, another incarnation of the Word that I may be to Him another humanity wherein He may renew His mystery.ā€ This is a prayer very rich in meaning, especially as each of us is called to become another Christ and to Incarnate His life into our own. In this pre-Christmas conversation, Mark and Frances discuss how we can work to prepare ourselves to receive this ‘Incarnation’ in our own souls.
