February 19, 2014 – Peak Performance is Within Our Reach Too

When we see athletes compete at the Olympic games, we can be amazed by the height of their achievement. But, we also know that not every athlete achieves the heights they are capable of. Furthermore, it is not simply the outcome of every sporting contest that matters, where there are winners and losers. It is a question of whether the athletes, and also you and I, bring forward all the talent that is within us, independent of our walk in life. C. S. Lewis proposes a source for greater strength and courage. We see this exhibited in the story of David’s remarkable contest with Goliath. Listeners are invited to consider the source of their talents and to solicit God’s aid for their “contests” and life.

May 8, 2013 – Simple Steps to Draw Closer to Our Lord and to Evangelize!

“Where have all the faithful gone? Where do we sometimes go? Why have they left and how might they find a way back home? In this program, I invite listeners to rekindle the sense of wonder and awe we have in experiencing Our Lord’s splendor. I also encourage my audience to consider that the world offers us many competing “values” – people, places and things that are appealing and in place of Our Lord.

“However, as an experiment for listeners to try at home, I invite all to “turn aside” (see Ex 3: 3) with Moses and consider Our Lord in the Burning Bush. I propose six short steps for us to take there together. “

July 14, 2011 – The Appalling Strangeness of the Mercy of God

The Appalling Strangeness of the Mercy of God.  The Story of Ruth Pakaluk, Convert, Mother, Pro-Life Activist.

Ken talks with Dr Michael Pakaluk the editor of The Appalling Strangeness of the Mercy of God.  The Story of Ruth Pakaluk, Convert, Mother, Pro-Life Activist published by Ignatius Press.  In today’s anti-life society, the world needs the example of women who are beacons for the culture of life.  Well know author Peter Kreeft knew Ruth and has said that Ruth was the most effective and inspiring pro-life speaker he had ever heard.  She was such a compelling, articulate pro-life debater that eventually Planned Parenthood spokeswomen refuse to spar with her in public. Kreeft goes on to say, “In this book you will meet a truly wonderful person.” Dr Pakaluk’s book can be purchased at: http://www.ignatius.com/Products/ASMG-P/the-appalling-strangeness-of-the-mercy-of-god.aspx
