Francesca Franchina, MS Ed. hosts Susan Ferguson, Director of the University of Dayton Center for Catholic Education (CCE) and Sister Angela Ann Zukowski, MHSH, D. Min. focusing on contemporary education in a digital world and distance education with the internet and digital technologies. Sister Angela Ann is a former member of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Social Communications, Director of the UD Institute for Pastoral Initiatives, and Director of the Caribbean School of Communications in Trinidad,is a Professor of Religious Studies and teaches in the UD School of Education. She serves as an international consultant addressing topics related to communications and education and gives workshops, seminars and lectures around the world. Dr. Zukowski, D. Min. serves on several boards related to Catholic education, including the Catholic Leadership Academy Planning Committee (United States), Board of Governors of CREDI (Catholic Religious Education Development Initiative) and as Animator for Mary Queen of Peace (five merged schools/parishes ) as a consultant for cultivating a Beatitude Culture within the school, families and local neighborhood communities. Francesca Franchina, MS Ed. talks with Susan Ferguson Director of the University of Dayton Center for Catholic Education (CCE) and Dr. Shauna Adams, Ph.D. Executive Director of the Center for Early Learning at the University of Dayton. As the University of Dayton’s School of Education and Health Sciences Faculty Liaison to The Bombeck Family Learning Center,(UD’s Early Childhood Demonstration School) Dr. Adams is an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in child development, curriculum and assessment, early childhood research,advocacy and leadership. She is an extremely effective educator and a high creative in her numerous writing endeavors as author and co-author of educational textbooks, early childhood programs and grants. Her experience in schools as a special educator (P-12), school psychologist and working with families brings depth to everything she does. Francesca Franchina, MS Ed. continues conversations with Susan Ferguson Director of the University of Dayton Center for Catholic Education (CCE) focusing on the St. Remy Initiative with Director Dr. Toni Moore, Ph.D. former Assistant Superintendent of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Catholic Schools and former Catholic School Principal and Archdiocesan Catholic School Administrator Toni Moore about their work with the St. Remy Initiative: Professional Development for Catholic School Educators. Named for the town of St. Remy de Provence in France where the first Marianist Normal School for the professional development of Christian teachers was established in 1824 by Blessed Wm. Joseph Chaminade this initiative inspires hope by forming the heart of Catholic Educators through serving the spiritual formation of Catholic School Educators. Experiencing this unique professional development program, meeting as a learning community to strengthen their spirituality, Catholic Educators have advanced instructional skills and developed their leadership potential through this collaborative effort between UD and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
