Spring Mariathon 2015

Radio Maria’s annual Spring Mariathon was held on May 18-22. The Mariathon is a week in which we ask you our listeners to call in and make a pledge to help support your Catholic radio. Radio Maria is funded 100% by listener donations and with through your generosity and the divine providence of God, we bring you Catholic programming 24 hours a day.
With a total pledged of $64,885 pledged, we certainly see your love of Our Lady’s radio network. While the pledges were short of the total we were hoping for, we know that God always provides and is never outdone in generosity.
It is not too late to give. If you would like to make a donation to Radio Maria you can do so by visiting our Donate Page or by calling in a pledge to 888-408-0201.

It’s Still Cold Outside – Keep Your Heart Warm

Even if springtime is around the corner, it is still cold outside, and Radio Maria is still experiencing its own cold winter. Our “Heartwarming” campaign began two weeks ago, and as of today, we have reached about 25 % of our goal: $100,000.00.

We want to thank all who have contributed so generously to this extraordinary appeal. And to ask anyone who has not had the opportunity, to please help us with an “alms” this Lenten Season. It’s a wonderful way to fulfill your Lenten duty and contribute to the Spiritual Works of Mercy through Radio Maria.

We want to continue to warm the hearts of many– and even more– listeners whose hearts need warming this time of year– YOURS TOO!

Many thanks and God bless you all this Holy Season of Lent!

May 14, 2014 – Cures for the Common Core

In the wake of the 2008 recession, States were offered $53 billion in “Stimulus” money if they would commit to “Four Assurances”. One of these included adopting what is now called Common Core (CCSI), a privately developed standard. According to sources noted, it comes to us without input from teachers and parents, and distances children from the good, the true and the beautiful. Missouri, one of the states using CCSI since 2009, already shows a decline in math and English language arts readiness (http://missourieducationwatchdog.com/). Daunting? Yes! But what can we do? First, consider examples in Sacred Scripture. We have seen how our plans unravel when God is not included. Second, consider the encouragements coming from Our Lady. Mary invites us to Pray. To receive the Eucharist. To go to confession. To read Scripture and to Fast. How beautiful!

Curious About Common Core

April 24, 2014 – David Pierre, Jr.

Ken talks with David Pierre author of Double Standard: Abuse Scandals and the Attack on the Catholic Church, and Catholic Priests Falsely Accused: The Facts, The Fraud, The Stories. Dave Pierre is one of the country’s leading observers of the media’s coverage of the Catholic Church abuse narrative. Yes, Catholic priests terribly abused minors, and bishops failed to stop the unspeakable harm. That is an undeniable truth. Nothing justifies such an evil. However, major media outlets are unfairly attacking the Catholic Church, and these two compelling books have the shocking evidence to prove it. Double Standard provides background and Catholic Priests Falsely Accused has more specific stories. Both are excellent. David’s books are available on Amazon, and Kindle versions are available for only $3. Visit his website: www.TheMediaReport.com

April 08, 2014 – Peter LaBarbera

Peter will be our Guest on “The Quest for a Culture of Life in America” Tuesday NOON ET. He is President of Americans For Truth about Homosexuality (AFTAH), a non-partisan, non-profit group dedicated to exposing the homosexual-bisexual-transgender activist agendas. AFTAH is a counter to over a dozen national American “gay” groups with annual budgets ranging from just under $1 million to over $30 million working to advance an agenda which threatens to criminalize Christian opposition to behavior that most Americans believe is wrong.
LaBarbera has debated the top homosexual advocates while appearing on hundreds of TV and radio news programs, including FOX’s Hannity and Colmes, CNN’s “The Larry King Show” and CNN’s “Crossfire,” C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal,” National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered,” and Bill O’Reilly’s and Alan Colmes’ nationally syndicated radio programs. He has been quoted on homosexuality-related issues in newspapers across the nation, including The New York Times,Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Wall Street Journal, Washington Times, Chicago Sun-Times, Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, as well as by Associated Press and Reuters.
Peter will address Health Issues associated with homosexual behaviors and the question of whether same-sex-attraction (SSA) is a condition/disorder that people are born with or acquired. He will also examine the motives behind efforts to normalize SSA in our schools and culture. Are these often extreme tactics creating a back lash that will eventually bring these efforts down?

How do local pro-life ministries manage to keep current on Pro-Life connections in Columbus, OH to know what is happening in legislation concerning pro life movement interests and Right to Life nationally, statewide and locally? The Life Resource Center of Dayton has hosted family and team/organization fun with the Third Annual L K Hausfeld Ride For Life and Celebration to be held Saturday, July 27, 2013 on area bike paths with endurance/mileage categories from 6-100 miles; starting and finishing at The Life Centre 425 E. June 25, 2013 – Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust

Please join Jeff and Kristina, and several Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust on Radio Maria’s “The Quest for a Culture of Life in America”.
You may ask, “Who are the ‘Survivors of . . . ‘?” Some new TV adventure program, where your comrades evict you every week? NOT!
Survivors are anyone born since Roe vs Wade made abortion legal in every state, at any age, for any reason. The particular Survivors we will be chatting with have either been through a “pro-life boot camp” or are in the current “camp” in southern California. These are young adults 14-29 who have paid almost $500 to be immersed in the pro-life movement with two-solid weeks of seminars and activism. They graduate with the energy, enthusiasm, commitment, knowledge, and experience to be the pro-life leaders in our communities for years to come.
